Student Sponsor Profiles
Eunice
Adhiambo
My name is Eunice Adhiambo. I come from Nyanza Province of Kenya. I am aged 16,
and I am in Form One at Bahati Community Centre Secondary School. We are four in our family. I am an orphaned
girl. My father died when I was only twelve years and I have gone through many difficulties. These problems
have affected my education and my personal life.
However, I thank God for enabling me to
achieve my first goal in life which was to complete and pass my Primary School Education. I scored 320 out of
the maximum 500 and got an invitation letter from Bahati Community Centre where I am getting my secondary
education right now. But when I look at my situation, I don’t know what tomorrow will bring as I have no one to
pay my school fee. I would like to finish my studies and get a degree in Law. My dream of becoming a lawyer has
been with me since I was a child, even though I come from a poor family. I know God has a plan for
me.
If only I get a sponsor who can pay for my
scholarship, I promise not to let him/her down. When I get my degree, I will help the needy in everyway I can; I
will also become somebody’s sponsor. At the moment, my aunt is the only person trying to support me as my mother
lives up-country, but she doesn’t have a job; she washes clothes for the rich people in the nearby estates like
Jacaranda, Komarock and Saika in order to earn some money for our up-keep.
I am praying for God to touch a
good Samaritan for me.
Yours sincerely,
Eunice
Adhiambo.
Elizabeth Tabitha
Ngandi
My name is Elizabeth Tabitha Ngandi from Kitui in Eastern Province of Kenya. I was
born in the year 1996, the second born in our family. Kitui is a semi-arid area and we are poor because our
parents are farmers but there isn’t enough rain for crop production.
I joined Primary School in 2002 and did my
KCPE in 2010. I never repeated any class in primary level. I scored 256 marks out of the maximum 500. We sat for
the KCPE exams the two of us, my brother Benjamin and I and both of us have reported to Form One in Bahati
Community Centre this year 2011. Our parents are not able to raise the fee for both of us. Even though we have
paid the fee for this term, we don’t know what will happen in second term.
I would like to become a pediatric doctor to
help children. I promise not to let my sponsor down.
God bless you as you help me
achieve my goal in life.
Yours sincerely,
Elizabeth T.
Ngandi.
Veronica
Mumbua
I am Veronica Mumbua. I came from Eastern Province. I was born in 1996 and my
father died in 2009 when I was 13. I am the first born in a family of three with a single-mother. My mother
got married to my step-father who is the father of my younger siblings. Three years back they broke up due to
domestic violence. This made me go to live with my aunt in Western Province. I attended Khwisero Pri. School
for one year where I sat for my KCPE exams and scored 289 marks out of the maximum 500. because of these
family problems, I stayed for a whole term without learning. My mother now earns a living by plaiting hair in
Nairobi but the salary is not enough to provide for our basic needs.
I joined Bahati Community Centre in Form One
this year, but I don’t know what the future holds for me, as I am not sure of retaining my place in the centre
next term due to finances.
God bless you as you help me
achieve my dream of becoming a lawyer.
Yours sincerely,
Veronica
