The Plan
The Lord made clear His plans for the
Carriers to minister in Kenya a while ago. Although the mission has been taking shape for years now, on
Marc’s most recent trip, the Lord has finally provided answers to many outstanding questions. Most
significantly, the Lord forged a solid team of anointed laborers for Christ, that will certainly make the
Carriers' transition into the field much easier. More importantly, the work is now underway long before
they move.
Also, the Lord has made very clear the
location for the Carrier homestead—Kitale, Western Province, Kenya. Another outstanding dilemma was the matter
of work permits and income generation. These matters are all coming together seamlessly in recent months.
So all the pieces of the puzzle are assembling. So you might ask, “why are they still in the US?” That’s a fair
question.
Well, quite simply, it takes a lot of money
to move a large family to the other side of the globe. Marc recently went back to work full time, at the Lord’s
leading, to save money for a few years; this will make the transition to Kenya possible without creating a
financial burden for others.
In the meantime, Marc and other ministry
leaders have formalized the Kenyan mission by incorporating Kingdom Driven Ministries as a non-profit
(501c3) and have filed a Kenyan NGO under the same name (Kingdom Driven Ministries Kenya), with the
same mission. This provides oversight, accountability, transparency, and a tax deduction for our faithful
contributors.
The Carriers have been given an acre of land
and are now building a modst home among the locals. The Carriers are also practicing their Swahili (lots of fun
with the little ones)! They will be establishing a business on the ground in Kenya to support their personal
financial needs after they settle in, Lord willing. Their desire is to be as self-sustaining as it is
within their ability. It is their intent that donations to Kingdom Driven Ministries be used for actual
ministry, and NOT to support the ministers. This is the model of KDM now, and it is the intent
going forward, Lord willing.
With the Lord’s favor, the Carriers are
saving money in 2011 (and having their 8th child). Land has been donated and the Carriers are building a modest
home among the locals NOW! It is projected that by mid-2012, the Carriers will permanently reside and
minister in East Africa.
The Carriers appreciate your prayerful
support for their family, the transition, their ministry partners, and of course, the many diverse needs in East
Africa.
